“and the soul felt its worth”

Thank You for a Holy Night

============================

Ballet Creole just healed me.

Despite great joys and great dancing in my life, I often let myself collapse. I grew 4 inches tonight.

I started pen and paper in hand, half-enjoying it. Then it hit me.

The audience clapped after every dance. What else could they do? I joined them, but … Clapping was not enough. I wanted pure silence or jumping/dancing/singing/whooping.

Carlynn, Mom and I did dance the whole evening in our chairs, and twice had opportunity to let elated exclamations erupt. It was an intense standing ovation.

After the show, we met most of the dancers and the company director, Patrick, at a reception. Later, outside, I passed an … awesome … dancer to whom we had not spoken. I took three steps back, and said to him “P.S. I love you”. He loved it. It was enough.

It is performed every year. And two more days this year. (Dec.15,16)

… Long lay the world, in sin and ever pining, ’til (S)He appeared and the soul felt its worth. …
