In Toronto’s waste guide, it says, without explanation, include diapers and tissues in the Green Bin (for city compost).
I would have thought diapers had bleach and super-absorbent futuristic freaky chemicals, as well as being made out of a material that includes a kind of plastic, and having plastic/elastic ’strings’ (thin, sewn-in) at the waist and thighs.
How can diapers be composted?
I’m willing to choose an ecological alternative to modern diapers, such as reusable cloth, but if diapers can now be composted, I’ll be a happy shopper.
I’m sending this question to Tena, since Mom currently uses Tena.
