Video interviews are especially helpful when there is a long distance between the employer and the candidate. With the video interview you record, employers will be more willing to ‘meet’ you than if they needed to pay for travel, or to develop and then provide to you the technology and training to conduct a live online interview.

How to do it:

1.  Prepare your answers to the questions (sent to you by Dynamic Teambuilders).

2.  Scroll down to the Respond section below, enter your name and email address, then click “Add WebCam Comment”. If you only have a microphone (no webcam), click “Add Audio Comment”, and send us a photograph.

3.  A permission prompt will appear. Click on the radial button beside the words “Allow Webcam”, and then close this box.

4.  Check that the lighting and background are okay.

5.  Do a short test to check that the sound is good.   (Click Record.  Talk.  Click Stop. Click Playback. Repeat if necessary.)

6.  Before you record the interview, remember: The maximum length should be about 4 minutes. Begin by introducing yourself as suggested on the outline. Then either have someone in the background read the first question, or: pick up your paper, say “Your next question is”, read the question, set the paper down, look at the webcam and reply. Everything set to go? Press Re-record and begin.

7.  When you are finished answering the questions, press STOP.  If you wish, click Playback. Click Save.  (Or Re-Record.)

8.  Paste into the text box: “I give Dynamic Teambuilders permission to send this video to potential hiring managers only, and waive consequential damages.” If you need to modify that, please feel free to do so.

9.  Down below, !!! click  Submit Comment  !!! (We won’t get your video if you don’t.)
