New: YouTube now has Full-Screen Playlists
(since November __, 2008)
If you click the full-screen icon in the bottom right of the player, not only will the current video go full-screen, so will the rest of the playlist.
Watch HIGH QUALITY on YouTube automatically.
In My Account, on the left, click Playback Setup, choose “Always play higher-quality video when available.”
EXCESS INTERNET USAGE
Especially for caregivers, who need to keep their family member entertained/oriented/engaged while working or out of the home, viewing many online playlists many times requires downloading the same files repeatedly. Every time they download, they are saved in a Temp folder, but as soon as you close your YouTube window/tab, the files are eliminated. So, you may find you want to download playlists and their videos. “atube” works, and is truly totally free (no spamware/malware) (money is made from the many ads on its website). It doesn’t download the actual playlist list, but you can specify a new folder in the save location for each playlist (set of videos) you download, and then add each set to your media player and click to create a playlist.
These playlists are NOT CURRENT – I have added to and subtracted from the playlists I now use, but my improvements are not reflected here because of two problems, one of which youtube has now fixed:
YouTube fixedsaving a quicklist to a playlist. Previously, it only worked for 8 videos or less. Also, when you have many playlists, youtube’s “Add to Playlist” feature was SLOW (20+ seconds on high speed, for me).
YouTube Problems Remaining:
— From the Quicklist view, “Add to Playlist” loads in 5 seconds, which is okay, BUT THE PLAYLISTS ARE NOT IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER, AND the window is SHORT, with only room to see 5 playlist names at a time, so it’s next to impossible to find the right playlist !
— We need folders for playlists – I have 25 dance playlists, 25 musician playlists, 15 religion playlists, 20 movie highlights playlists, etc.. I begin each list name with the category, but still it’s hard to navigate ~180 playlists, and folders would make the “Add to Playlist” feature much faster.

Before my old host crashed, and before YouTube enabled FullScreen playlists, this page had 3386 views.
Full Screen Playlists:
Excerpt for the Playlist links, the following is now obsolete, since YouTube playlists can now play full-screen.
———-
YouTube’s playlists normally display only in a small box. It took 6 hours of searching through support forums and webmaster guides until I realized it’s simple.See also, below, ‘real full-screen‘ (test mode).
Disadvantage:
You can’t see video descriptions, comments, and ratings. If you want those, scroll within the picture-rich frame to the right, and click the desired playlist. It won’t play full-screen.
Most of these have been viewed and refined by Jonathon, but not all.
* Most unedited playlists are flagged with an asterisk.

So here are the steps I use to create full-screen playlists:
From the edit playlists window, I copy all the playlists, and paste them in a program with a visual editor*. Switching to view the html code, I see something like a long version of this:
< li class>< a href="http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=3ECE5BE4C3FC390B" rel="nofollow">Amazing
Grace< /a> - 6< /li>
< li class>< a href="http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=4D2C29742E6C8E55" rel="nofollow">Comedy< /a>
- 22< /li>
< /ul>
Either in the editor, or after copying the code to a Notepad file, I replace “my_playlists?p=” with “p/”.
I save the edited page.
(I used WordPress, but FrontPage works, as does NVU. NVU is freeware, but when I last checked it was not the ultimate ideal)
It’s not automatically integrated with YouTube, so if I add more playlists that I want visible to my visitors, I need to edit my file. And if I change the # of videos within a playlist on youtube, that won’t update automatically here, so, if it matters, I need to edit the file.
Should we include advertisements? I'd rather you explore this site. I thought clicks on ads brought me a few cents but I heard they can bring a few dollars per click (still using Google's Adsense; depending on the advertiser), so I'm testing:
