Research Proposal

In partnership with [your organization?], we will be conducting a multi-centered, randomized study of the efficacy of Caregiving by Playing.
Portions of the experiment will be documented as a documentary.

Some computer games for the brain are receiving exuberant praise from critical authorities, but neurogenesis experts also stress how embodied thinking has more neurological impact than disembodied thinking, and how studies of animals in normal lab conditions seemed to demonstrate that neurogenesis did not exist - until they gave the animals a natural habitat1.

Essentially, our approach offers everything that computer games for the brain offer, but

bulletin an enriched environment

We can study the Caregiving by Playing techniques separately or together.  Since the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, yet each part has immense self-expanding power, the techniques will ideally be studied both separately (for some groups) and together (for other groups).  The components are:

bulletRegenerating Degenerating Brains
bulletNeurorehabilitation through Contact Dance
bulletCaregiving - A Contact Dance
bulletCaregiving as Theatre - Advancing Your Play
bulletCaregiving as Music
bulletWith Cane, I'm Able - Caregiving by Imagination and Humour
bulletCaregiving through Gardening
bulletCaregiving, the Business
bulletCaregivers of the Planet - Playing Ecology as a Caregiving Solution
bulletComputer-Aided Caregiving

Required:

bullet funding - for the research
bullet funding - for the documentary
bullet a research team

Community-Based Research

In addition to a standard formal study, this work needs you to try it in your life, and participate in the research.  So even if you're not selected for the formal study (due to logistics and random selection), you can still be part of this project.

Pilot Studies

In addition to ready-to-roll methods, we have tools and methods and techniques that are still 'in the lab'.

We work with other innovators to explore possible solutions.

We welcome proposals.
