 | Play by Play |
[brief rough draft description]
We want to post our work for
free on the internet - videos, scripts, grant proposals, etc., to
facilitate uptake / knowledge transfer, but we need income to pay our
expenses. Should we try to prevent video piracy of our work? Should we try
to prevent others from using our ideas in grant applications and in
marketing? Or can we produce professional theatre projects for
$0?
If
the performers focus on priming the conditions for creativity through
playful workouts, and then create a production through 100 public improvisations,
in a way we get 100 plays for
the price of 1. How do you account for play - how can your accounting
records satisfy auditors/donors? If one member spends 100 hours on something which
doesn't ultimately get used - which doesn't yield a return on
investment - should he or she be paid? If we expected a task to
take 1 hour and be fun, but takes 20 and is body-and-soul destroying,
how should the person be compensated? Can the sense of play in a
team survive these frustrations? If so, can play be a business model for producing
other goods and services? In other words, can business be
experienced as a contact improv dance?

The Creative Workout |
Beyond going through motions, let imagination inspire movement. Discover how the body moves in spontaneous response to emotion -
discover the mind in the body. Try working out by being
productive.

|
 | Caregivers Union |
What's wrong with this picture: people devoted to serving
don't get pensions or benefits (vacation pay, sick leave, dental
plans) or expense accounts - they not only don't get paid for their
work, they pay to work.
Is the only thing wrong the perspective?
Our vision: everyone sees partners in care everywhere (mailman,
bus driver); everyone identifies as a care-partner in all they do.

 | Nothing for Christmas / Save Santa! |
What do you get for the person who has everything? Have you
discovered the toys and the tools of production within? If you
think virtual reality is great, wait til you try reality! Play
with it, and make real contact with people, animals, plants, and, if
you will, God.
Plus: Dissolve the give-receive dichotomy - get what you really want -
co-create!

|
 | Unemployed? Be a Philanthropist! |
Have the promises of technology come true? Are we now free to be
channels of peace, participants in Creation? Do we escape from
freedom? Do we think there is no other game in town? Is
the incentive economy obsolete - can there be an inspired economy,
where we don't need the band aid solutions of rewards and punishments
to motivate us, because we are reborn in our original
innocence? (Our inspiration is only frustrated when we feel we must violate
our values in order to survive, n'est-ce pas?) (I just found the
research community agrees - instrumental motivation robs people of
intrinsic motivation.)

 | Renovate My Family - The "Less Bucks More Bang" Caring Competition |
A documentary of a year-long project with 10 families/homes - some in
caregiving situations, some not. Who can have the greatest quality
of life for the least amount of "true cost" - financial
expense plus environmental and social impact? Can the
competitors collaborate and still enjoy a competition?
