This is
a free social event for
people in the early stage of Alzheimer Disease
and their family members.
- The event was a place where my husband could feel like a human being and I was not be worried what other people were thinking
- I haven't danced like that in years
- The food was excellent, the music just our style, and the location was so elegant.

Educational Workshops
Programs are delivered on a regular basis on issues pertaining to Alzheimer Disease and other dementias. These include workshops on the different stages of the disease, different types of dementia, and caregiver stress and coping strategies.
Where to Begin: an introduction to Alzheimer Disease
Exploring together what can improve the quality of life for the person with Alzheimer Disease or other dementia, and their caregivers in the early stages.
This workshop is for family caregivers.
Topics include the nature of Alzheimer Disease, communication guidelines, caregiver coping and supports available.
The Middle of the Journey: Understanding and Managing BehaviourAn educational group for family caregivers of individuals in the middle stages of Alzheimer Disease, with a focus on understanding and managing behaviours such as agitation and wandering.
Topics include an overview of the disease, communication, understanding and managing behaviour and supports available.
Winter Series for Family CaregiversA four-week educational series for family caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. This series will be beneficial to individuals new to the caregiving role.

How to Motivate Your Family MemberThis workshop will help caregivers find effective activities for their family member. The goal is to give practical ideas on how family members can spend quality time together by identifying and drawing upon the person's remaining strengths.
